    The Hyde Park scene is all the richer for this new venture from Matthias Mergesß- a man who's worked in the past with late, great Charlie Trotter and who's already notched up successes with the popular Billy Sunday and Yusho. His new spot has a European focus and serves solid, well-made, if a tad unadventurous, cocktails alongside a range of inventive predominantly though not exclusively Italian dishes to an appreciative local crowd. There's gin and house-made tonic on tap as well as their take on Shandy, a mix of Witbier and Squash Sage. The short list of cocktails includes a potent Corpse Reviver #2, a Kangaroo made with vodka, dry vermouth, and Spanish bitters, and classic gin Martini. They also serve Vin De Maison, a rotating seasonal wine-based aperitif. A wide list of wines are available by the glass, but the beer selection is a bit on thin side. The kitchen specialises in house-made pasta including orchiette (little ears) with aapini, anchovy, Calabrian chili, and a pheasant angolotti with brown butter. There's also a selection of small and large plates and wood-fired pizza (we really like the sound of smoked eggplant and house-made burrata). Service is friendly and the room is attractive and contemporary in style, the cream walls and cream banquettes accented with bright splashes of colour,
