Famously featured in the Vesper martini, the fresh floral notes of French wine aperitif Lillet make it a perfect versatile choice to liven up your spring cocktails.
Blending 85% Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc wine with 15% fruit liqueurs made by macerating sweet, bitter and green oranges with quinine in brandy, Lillet Blanc is the perfect balance between sweet and dry, its honeyed, zesty and floral aromatic notes leaving a lingering impression you’ll be looking forward to find in all your drinks.
Here are three to get you started:
As cooling as it gets — you’ll want to sip on these all afternoon. Simply pour one part Lillet in an ice-filled collins or balloon glass and top with two parts tonic. Garnish with a lemon or grapefruit wedge and enjoy.
A bittersweet classic that needs no introduction. Stir 1 oz dry gin, 1 oz Lillet blanc and 1 oz Suze into an ice-filled old fashioned glass. Garnish with a pink grapefruit twist.
Sunday in the Park
Combine 1 oz fresh lemon juice, 1,5 oz Lillet Blanc, 1,5 oz bourbon, 1/4 oz simple syrup, a sprig of thyme and a dash of Angostura bitters into a shaker with ice.
Shake well and double-strain into a tall ice-filled glass.
Top with 1 or 2 oz of soda water and garnish with fresh thyme.
