3 savory cocktails to spice up your next brunch
Move over, Bloody Mary! We love you, but it’s time to change it up. Here are three other chilled savory drinks perfect to serve over brunch that will hit the spot every single time.

1. Michelada

A tried and true summer classic. It really doesn’t get more refreshing than this.

Rub a lime wedge along the rim of a highball glass and dip into a mix of salt and cayenne pepper. Fill the glass with ice cubes. Add 5 parts beer, ⅓ part hot sauce, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce and 1⅓ parts lime juice. Finish with 1 pinch celery salt and 1 pinch ground black pepper. Garnish with lime.

2. Green Gimlet

This is what they mean by “green juice”, right?

Muddle a couple of basil leaves and ½ oz fresh lime juice in a shaker. Fill with ice and add 2 parts gin, 1½ parts celery juice and ½ part basil-infused simple syrup. Shake vigorously until cold and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with basil and celery leaves.

3. Bell Pepper Margarita

While the Margarita is a brunch staple, we bet your guests never tasted one like this before.

Combine 1½ parts reposado tequila, 1 part fresh red bell pepper juice, 1 part fresh lime juice, ¾ part honey syrup (half honey, half water) and a handful of fresh cilantro into a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into a chilled rocks glass over ice. Garnish with a wheel of lime.
