Located right in the heart of Amsterdam’s party district, Rain remains as hot as when it opened back in 2005. It’s a big glossy space: lots of dark wood and leather softened by splashes of lilac and fresh flowers. On the ground floor there’s a bar area and a laid back dining space. Upstairs there’s a slightly more formal dining room for lingering over the inventive global fusion food. Fusion is one of those terms that can alarm restaurant goers so often better in theory than execution but dishes like their Wagyu burger on hazelnut brioche with onion confit are would prove this theory unfounded. Try one of their tasting menus if you want to see what the kitchens can really do. The relaxed vibe alters as the hours tick by and the place becomes more club-like, allowing revelers to drink and dance into the morning.
