Cosy, colourful and eccentric bar near the busy Leidseplein, perfect for a late-night drink and some witty banter with its arty crowd of regulars. The interior is a camp mish-mash of Art Deco lighting and pretty, tiled mosaics, with walls covered in animal furs. We didn’t get to ask if they were fake or not. The space is split on two levels, but is pretty narrow and being so small gets crowded on weekends. Cocktails and beers prove popular while the music is a wide range of new wave, Brit pop and soul. It may be near Leidseplein but it’s more neighbourhood bar than most.
