This famed Brusselsbased bar, which once graced the pages of the Guinness Book of World Records on account of its vast beer selection, has recently opened a sister venue in Amsterdam. This place, like the original, also boasts a huge selection of hoppy goodness, some 500 beers in total – it would take a long time to work through all of those (but we’ll give it a good try). The Amsterdam outpost of the Delirium Cafe is home to a huge global selection of brews, both craft and big brand, Trappists, wheat beers, ales, porters, beers familiar and rare. There are trained beer sommeliers are on hand to help you make your way through the list and answer any questions you may have. The café even offers a boat service from Central Station direct to their waterside location so you can start sipping sooner. The venue itself is warm and convivial, there’s a menu of decent bar food, and there are beer tasting and meet-the-brewer events if you want to expand your tastes even further.
