Twenty Third Bar

In a city like Amsterdam, being on the 23rd floor is like being on top of the world. It’s easy to see where the appeal lies with the aptly named Twenty Third Bar at the Hotel Okura then. The glamorous, contemporary five star hotel’s penthouse Champagne and cocktail bar boasts some truly superb views over the whole of the city. Go on a sunny day to really appreciate the splendour. The interior is everything you’d expect from a hotel of this calibre with an international sheen. Tiny lights dot the air above the bar which itself glows a soft, calming blue. Everything is very polished and glossy including the staff. Service is super smooth too. The cocktail menu errs on the safe side, with classic drinks – martinis, daiquiris and sours the order of the day. There’s also a good range of Champagnes and wines available by the bottle and by the glass. The bar menu, which includes Pata Negra and oysters, comes care of the adjoining Michelin star-winning Ciel Bleu Restaurant. Prices are on the steep side (typically around ß-15 per drink you could rack up a serious bill here) but you’re paying for the views here as well as for what’s in your glass and those views are some of the best in the city.
