iDock, the seriously stylish new restaurant-cum-bar of the Hotel Room Mate, boasts its very own marina (you could probably have guessed that from the name). The space really comes into its own in spring and summer when it fills up with locals as well as the odd snazzy river cruiser. Inside, it's a wide, light contemporary space, all slick modern décor, the room benefiting from being both high-ceilinged and large windowed. The cocktails are a big selling point here too. The list's not a long one, but the drinks are well made, mostly classics with the odd contemporary tipple thrown in for good measure they do a fresh and fruity raspberry daiquiri, made with Havana Club, ideal for summer sipping, and a potent Tokyo Iced Tea, a blend of white spirits made zingy with lime and a twist of cucumber. Their frozen chili Margarita sounds like it's capable of delivering quite a kick and they stock a good range of wines including an impressively wide array of champagne. Bar snacks include bitterballen of course but also oysters and an abundance of tasty fishy things. The view out onto the water is glorious, by day and evening both, and DJs do their thing at weekends, enlivening the already convivial atmosphere.
