Amsterdam-Grachtengordel-West/De 9 Straatjes

Located in a historic 17th Century building on Amsterdam’s iconic canal belt, Apt. is a home-away-from-home for cocktail and nightlife connoisseurs in the decadent Dutch capital. Feeling like part bar, part club, and yet another part regal art collector’s residence, Apt. manages to master all things at once. Walking in (only after you’ve knocked on the door the instructed three times, of course) feels like entering a secret party. Crown moulding, grand mirrors, glamorous lighting, and art affixed to the ceiling are just a few of the touches that make Apt. special, but it’s the offerings at the bar that have us truly captivated.
Cocktails are all made with precision (the list has been created by a modern Dutch master), but they also have a flair for being fun like the Swedish Mule (ultra premium vodka, lime & pimento dram, and ginger beer), the Bourbon Apple Butter (premium bourbon, Dutch apple syrup, cranberry, lemon and a splash of bitters) and the Mexican Sour (premium tequila, smoked sea salt, orange bitters, and orange-flavored liqueur). An up-to-the-minute range of shooters are also whipped up by the sharp-dressed bar staff, and we can also say that the spirits and champagne selection is second to none in the city. Club nights take over most weekends, and we can’t think of a better place to party the night away in Amsterdam.
