A warm and friendly all day kind of space, Bar Mick’s mantra is ß-coffee, until it’s time for beer.ß- The bar serves tasty homemade cake, a range of breakfast and lunch dishes and a decent cup of coffee. There’s also a good range of wine and beer available – with local speciality beers on tap including Jopen and Affligemalongside – and a small range of superior dinner dishes, including The Big Mick, a burger of epic proportions and a selection of Dutch bar snacks: cheese and croquettes and the like. Located in a handsome corner building on the city’s west side, the space is white walled, airy and contemporary, stylish in a relaxed kind of way. The owners are laid-back and good-natured and the venue reflects that, This is the kind of place where you can easily and happily lose a couple of hours with a newspaper or enjoy a pleasant, lingering evening out with a group of mates. A terrace area is bound to be a popular spot for those looking to while away an afternoon in the Westerpark on a warmer evening and, by our reckoning, it’s always beer o’clock somewhere in the world.
