Occupying prime real estate directly on Amsterdam’s historic Prinsengracht canal, Het Molenpad is a place to gather with friends old or new, enjoy the view, and enjoy a drink or two. When we say it’s directly on the canal, we mean it, as the seasonal terrace at Het Molenpad is so close to the water, you could probably hop aboard one of the passing pleasure boats plying the waters of the canal. Not that the thought would even cross your mind though, as with a wide range of beer on draft, a plethora of available cocktails, and a full menu served both day and night, Het Molenpad is the type of place where once you’ve sat down, you don’t give up your chair for anything. The decor of the bar is just as charming as the terrace, featuring wooden floors, candlelight, and a tiled mirror that creates a stunning visual effect. Service is always efficient and with a smile, and while certainly not home to the thickest cocktail list in Amsterdam, what they do, they do well, especially their assorted range of gin and tonics. Whether at lunch or dinner, if you get hungry, Het Molenpad has you deliciously covered with a wide assortment of traditional Dutch bar snacks and mains, which when combined with the view out the windows, gives you a true slice of real Amsterdam life.
