Amsterdam's Waterkant is a top summer hotspot. Make sure you grab a table on the terrace and enjoy the views with one of the wide selections of beer.

Waterkant is a top new summer hotspot located under the Q-park on the border of the city center and West. The waterfront location means it’s glorious on sunny days; grab a table on the terrace and soak up the view. If it’s chilly it’s still cosy inside – despite the distinctive concrete curves of the building – with an interior design inspired by Paramaribo in Surinam. The place offers a range of bar snacks – red curry spring rolls, chicken wings, nachos alongside the ubiquitous bitterballen – alongside a large range of specialty beers. This is the main draw (apart from the terrace that is). There’s a huge selection of Dutch beers as well as international craft brews to choose from, both on tap – including Brooklyn Lager – and by the bottle, the latter including Punk IPA, Flying Dog and Howling Wolf. There’s also a decent selection of wines, should beer not be your thing.
