We don’t think there’s any better way to start a day than with a savory, rich, and spicy bloody mary, and when we found out that there was a bar in Barcelona dedicated to them? Well, let’s just say we were big fans, very, very, quickly.
The Bloody Mary Cocktail Lounge is a venture from one of Barcelona’s most famous cocktail teams, who outgrew their previous establishment in part due to the popularity of their signature take on the zesty eye-opening bloody mary. They found a new locale, decked it out with some classy deep-buttoned leather couches, vintage maps of the world, antique accordion lights, and some palms, and went to work creating even more bloody marys than before.
Yes, in addition to their storied version of the original, Bloody Mary Cocktail Lounge enthralls with a Bloody Caesar (vodka and spiced tomato juice kissed with clam juice), a Bloody Maria (tequila, mustard, and spiced tomato juice), a Red Snapper (substitutes gin for vodka, and also adds rosemary & garlic to the mix), and even a bloody mary with truffles – all served with a complementing tapa, of course. And if those don’t sound good to you, there’s always the ‘build-your-own’ option which includes even more creative ingredients like wasabi, port wine, and cucumber-infused gin, to name a few. There’s also long line of creative modern cocktails like the Alice in Wonderland (vodka infused with green tea, lychee and elderflower aroma) and gin and tonics on offer, but the bottom line is it’s all about the bloody.
