Atmosphere Bar @ Shangri-La

In a stratospheric location on the 80th floor of the Shangri-La’s China World Summit Wing, Atmosphere owns the title of the highest bar in Beijing, and as you would imagine, is home to absolutely jaw-dropping views of the city below on clear days. Even if there are clouds or pesky smog obstructing the view during your visit, Atmosphere makes the elevator journey up still well worth it as it is home to a drinks card that reads like a who’s who of international staples all executed by a professional and courteous staff. In addition, Atmosphere boasts cocktails unique to the venue, world class whiskies, and a classy interior that encourages long hours of lounging. The decor at Atmosphere is modern and industrial in places, balanced out by traces of dark wood and flickers of candlelight which add a modern-den type vibe to things. The social scene at Atmosphere follows along accordingly as those looking to get loud and rowdy to the tunes of international DJs fresh off a private jet will sadly want to look elsewhere. On the other hand, if you enjoy socializing among a sharp dressed and sophisticated clientele who appreciate the finer libations in life, then this is truly the bar in Beijing for you – and when the view of the city is on full display, it becomes just the icing on the cake.
