A laid back medieval-themed bar in Beirut, Bedivere mixes fantastic cocktails while encouraging guests to put the cell phone down and start having fun.

Located in the historic Hamra district of Beirut, Bedivere Eatery and Tavern delivers a bar experience unlike anything else in Beirut – or the world for that matter. Home to an enchanting medieval theme based around the namesake of the bar – Bedivere was one of the legendary King Arthur’s most faithful and courageous knights – the bar has become internationally acclaimed as a meeting place in Beirut for every cross-section of the population and a slayer of a modern day distraction dragon: the cellular phone. Yes, Bedivere has gained hundreds of international headlines in recent years with its policy of providing a discount to all patrons willing to hand over their cell phone to staff upon entering the bar, thus creating a bar overflowing with fun and socializing rather than people staring down at screens. You get the distinct impression that this policy isn’t a gimmick, but the result of management truly wanting to create a unique atmosphere, and that attitude carries through to everything they do at Bedivere. On any given night, a crowd full of every walk of life and nationality gathers at Bedivere to to enjoy the bar’s signature ‘potions’, with the King Arthur – Irish whiskey, honey, fresh lime, and fresh grapefruit – Lady Guinevere –  gin, Italian aperitif, fresh basil, fresh orange – and the Lady of the Lake – vodka, fresh grapefruit juice, raspberry syrup – being just a trio of the selections. Delicious beer, wine, and a full bar food menu (from breakfast to late night snacks) is also served, and we’re betting you won’t miss your phone for a minute.
