Located just behind the central pedestrianized Knez Mihilova street, in the heart of Belgrade’s old town, this is a typically lively bar with a friendly atmosphere. The name translates as mineshaft in Serbian and the interior is duly decked out with pick axes, propellers and chains along with an array of black and white photographs. They serve Serbian beer on draft including our favourite Niksicko as well as a few popular imported beers. They also serve a good array of spirits and rakia both domestic and imported as well as a few super-potent cocktails. The bar is fairly spacious with a mezzanine level at the back. As with all bars in Belgrade while there’s ostensibly a non -smoking area these rules are interpreted fairly loosely. There’s a stretch of outdoor seating out on the pavement, with heaters for chillier evenings. And no we’re not sure why there are two toilets in the ladies cubicle either.
