Revival Bar and Kitchen

The pretty hip (and hip and pretty) Revival specialises in Californian cuisine with a local slant and pairs its plates with a superior menu of craft cocktails. The atmosphere is light, bright and airy, the room attractive and welcoming, the ethos very much on farm-to-table and sustainable, seasonal eating. Cocktails come care of Nat Harry, their head mixologist and are similarly ecologically sound – try the Rhubarb Old Fashioned, a blend of Rittenhouse Rye, rhubarb molasses, and bitters – they also stock a selection of local beers, and a large wine list, with a focus on small, family owned wineries. The food menu features an excellent range of charcuterie, ethically sourced seafood, salads, meats and cheeses. Plates are beautifully presented – witness their dish of roasted Alaskan halibut served with spring vegetable and morel ragout, pea mousse, red miso chip, chive blossoms, black onion seeds, and kombu cream – it’s like edible art. There’s also a generous happy hour which is well worth taking advantage of, with their cocktail du jour going for $7.
