Rosenthaler Platz, the epicenter of Berlin-Mitte, is home to the swanky, glamorous new bar and club,
Bonbon. Located opposite the popular DuDu, it’s a cool, hip spot, a place to see and be seen.
Once past the doormen, inside you’ll find a low-lit, seductive venue, blue walled and gilt-flecked with a few art deco flourishes scattered around the room, an abundance of flash and sparkle. There are velvet curtains, elegant leather sofas on which to lounge, striking black-and-white floors and lots of lovely things to drink.
While cocktail expertise is not all that high on the agenda here, the place serves a decent tipple.
Cocktails are well-mixed and frequently fruity and long, the perfect prop to hold in one’s hand as you swan round the room. The bar also stocks a wide variety of spirits, including a good range of superb small batch gins, as well as plenty of wine and fizz. Drinks are served in pretty vintage glassware, pretty being the operative word here.
The door policy can be on the tough side, particularly on weekends so do be sure to dress the part if you fancy a night of partying within these walls.
There’s an entrance fee to contend with too, it’s that kind of place, and you’ll find live music and DJ sets most night.
