One of Berlin’s latest “bunker bars”, so-called because of their obscure locations within reclaimed or dilapidated buildings, Fahimi is truly a diamond in the rough. Unlike many of the other namesake bars, Fahimi is a stylish and elegant oasis with a focus on soft jazz and even softer lighting, classic cocktails and chic steel bar stools, all of which adds up to an extremely satisfying way to spend an evening.Overlooking the train tracks of the U-Bahn which romantically rumbles along outside, Fahimi’s drinks list is the antithesis of average. The cocktails range from classics – Sidecars, Manhattans, Daiquiris and the like – to signature and seasonal. A couple of standouts include the autumnal Chocolate Plum – a combination of mezcal, pickled plum, chocolate liqueur and dark chocolate – and signature tipple The 18th – vodka, elderflower liqueur, grapefruit, simple syrup and Campari, served with rosemary ice cubes. The alcohol-free cocktails are almost just as impressive, while Fahimi also serves over fourteen different gins, an impressive array of international whiskies and a small wine and champagne list. If you decide to spend your whole evening cozied up enjoying the ambiance – and quite frankly, with a menu this long and impressive, who could blame you? – a small selection of bar snacks can help ward off your hunger and see you through to last orders.
