This nicely appointed, contemporary and stylish central Berlin hotel has an awful lot going for it. It’s comfortable and modern and very well located and then there’s the bar, which despite being located in a hotel popular with business travellers is lively and hip and worth a visit in its own right. This mostly down to the efforts of Mario Grünenfelder who has created a vital, exciting venue, one free of the usual hotel bar stuffiness and anonymity. The décor is modern and bright, all polished concrete and chrome, with white banquettes and there’s an inventive cocktail menu, not to mention a cool atmosphere, music gently pulsing in the background, the place resounding with the sound of people drinking, talking and having a good time. As a result the bar has started to appeal to a home crowd of Berliners as well as to tourists. The drinks menu includes classic cocktails and in-house creations and they serve a properly potent martini. On Fridays and Saturday nights, there are regular DJ sessions giving this place an additional buzz.
