There’s no question that some bars in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg neighbourhood are guilty of taking themselves a bit too seriously at times. Badfish Bar, on the other hand, opts to take their whisky, craft beers, and fun seriously, resulting in an atmosphere unique in the neighborhood and one well on its way to becoming legendary in the German capital. Reminiscent of the corner bars that populate American neighborhoods, Badfish Bar’s dark woods and exposed brick set a reserved yet playful tone, while elements like happy hour specials, free popcorn, stacked jukebox, and a fully functioning frozen margarita machine (you’ll have to limit yourself to two though, they are that strong) will have you thinking you boarded a plane and landed in New York or Chicago. As mentioned, craft beer and whisky are the signature pours behind the bar at Badfish, with the craft beer card constantly rotating in exciting new additions from both North America and Europe. The whisky selection is vast and serves as the base for a host of classic cocktails like Old Fashioneds and their signature Jameson Honey Whiskey Sour. Most impressively though, all drinks at Badfish are served without the slightest sniff of pretension, only precision and a real smile from a friendly staff that is out to have as much fun as you are.
