- Night Out
May 11, 2018
This lively Mitte nightspot is part bar, part club with a dance floor and regular DJ sets making it a popular place in which to let your hair down at the weekend. The space is pretty striking (if you can find it, the door is unmarked). The old building in which Bravo is housed has a reputation as a notorious party place going back to well before the wall fell. Now it may have lost its illicit, subversive edge, but it still has plenty of character with its raw brick walls and elegantly crumbling ceilings. There are two rooms, each with their own bar. The larger of the two boasts an abundance of old stucco juxtaposed with splashes of neon the latter encouraging the revellers to ‘shine’, advice they’re only too happy to take. The mood is relaxed and upbeat the crowd out to have a good time. This isn’t a hipster type of venue. It’s not trying too hard to be cool or on trend it just is what it is. You won’t find cutting edge cocktails here and the music isn’t all that edgy either but the place has an embracive quality that clearly appeals to a whole lot of people. Prices are reasonable too, which always helps. It gets pretty noisy and crowded, particularly on the weekends, the crowd moving to the music.
