Hip cosmopolitan hangout that’s a Boston institution – although you won’t find Cliffie and Norm propping up its Mahogany bar counter. Yuppies, older professionals and even tourists pack into this busy Newbury St restaurant-bar and it’s the perfect meeting place for post-work or late-night drinks. In summer the high French doors open up onto the sidewalk so you feel you could be in Paris, and true to form they serve pastries and coffees in the mornings, and a popular brunch on Sundays. Martinis are the specialty of the bar, where experienced staff mix a fine selection of Dry and Dirty varieties. Food includes hearty pizza and focaccia, and your wait staff all seem to know your name. On second thoughts, maybe you will find Cliffie and Norm here.
