If it’s the A-list jet set in its high heels you’re after, look no further. It’s easy to mistake Venu for catwalk California or supermodel South Beach but then that’s the intention. Billing itself as ‘Boston’s Hottest International Nightclub’ it gets no prizes for modesty, but then it also might just be right. Venu is located in the highbrow Theatre District, and on arrival you enter an art deco room with high walls done in pale pastels by design crew JFS Studios – an air of refined comfort that reminds you you’re flying first class and a setting that is miles away from the tacky neon décor of cheesier clubs.
The cleverly designed space is multi-tiered, with the dance floor on the lower tier as a focal spot in the room, so if you’d rather watch than dance you can grab a drink and a table and just take in the action. Resident DJs do theme nights including Signature Fridays, Entourage Saturdays and International Sundays (and you can count us in for Champagne Wars), while Armani and Versace seem to be the designers of choice for the expensively clad crowd. For an even more rarefied setting, phone ahead, say you’re a young Kennedy or DiCaprio, and you’ll get into the exclusive VIP area (don’t blame us if you get caught out, though). It’s part of the Pasha Entertainment empire that includes other Boston clubs such as Rumor, Cure Lounge and District Restaurant and Lounge, but for swanky partying, Venu would be our venue of choice.
