Bratislava-Old Town, Bratislava

Boasting beautiful views out over the red roofs of the Old Town and Castle Hill, the Sky Bar is brilliantly situated, high above the city. Reached by elevator from the Lemontree restaurant below, the bar revels in views out over the Castle and the Cathedral of St. Martin’s, the city’s most striking sights. In the summer months, the open air terrace allows you to soak up the view while enjoying a beer, a crisp glass of white wine or one of over 70 kinds of exclusive vodka, their speciality. Vodka flights are available as is a large array of vodka-based cocktails, including the Bali Bali, laced with coconut cream, the zingy Ginger and Cucumber, the tooth-achingly sweet Skittles-tini (which is exactly what you expect it to be) and a creamy Frozen White Russian. There’s also a menu of tasty Mediterranean dishes pastas, grilled fish, salads – as well as, slightly oddly, a scattering of Thai dishes – if you fancy a bite to eat. Stylish, light and bright, it’s a lovely place to linger particularly if you manage to snag one of the rattan sofas on the terrace. Floor-to-ceiling windows mean you can still enjoy the view even if the weather makes al fresco sipping a tricky proposition.
