Merkaba

Merkaba has got the Russian billionaire aesthetic down to a fine art. For one thing, there’s a 10m long gold bar, an aquarium, curving walls and several images banks displaying graphics from designer Karim Rashid, and last but not least a cheetah on a diamond-encrusted lead that belongs to a Russian Princess. Their mantra,’ where spirituality meets hedonism’, may raise a laugh, but the meaning of Merkaba is not without interest. As their literature solemnly tells us, it’s ‘a counter-rotating field of light generated from the spinning of specific geometric forms that simultaneously affects one’s spirit and body.’ Trendy young things flock to this uber-cool bar in their droves and seem happy enough nibbling on their antipasti and nursing their perfectly mixed cocktails.
