It was a long time coming, some three years in the making, but Cloudland was never meant to be an ordinary bar. Named for the Cloudland Ballroom, a local landmark that was demolished in the 1980s, the new venue was designed to be just as magical as its much mourned predecessor. It’s a striking space boasting some 5,000 plants and a retractable ceiling. The interior is lavish and evocative and the food and drink of a comparable standard. The menu contains inventive Asian influences and the cocktail menu is similarly innovative (their Rose Blossom Martini is a particular delight).
