The ever so elegant Cellars-Hohenort Hotel is part restored 18th century wine cellars, part Edwardian manor house. It’s a refined and subtly glamorous place, pleasingly situated in the heart of the vineyard-thick Constantia Valley and the hotel’s Martini Bar is equally sophisticated. A luxurious, beautiful venue, strikingly decorated with colourful polka dots and bold geometric prints on white walls. As you may have worked out already, the martini is the house drink and there are more than 150 variations on the menu. Should you be having a moment of irrational martini aversion, they also serve a range of other cocktails and a good selection of champagne. Obviously, given the location on the Constantia wine route, the grape is well favoured and the wine list features some excellent locally produced tipples. The crowd is a well-off and well-dressed bunch and the atmosphere is relaxed and convivial.
