The Migli Lounge is the creation of a couple of Cardiff fine arts graduates, a combination of video art gallery and cocktail lounge. The drinks are superb, made with lots of fresh fruit and quality spirits, while the kitchen produces excellent French-influenced dishes at wallet-friendly prices. The décor is sleek and in keeping with the artistic atmosphere, and four large plasma screens display the work of local artists (making a nice change from the sub-Jack Vettriano wall art or faux Rothko dabblings of so many bars). Live music, DJs and spoken word events add to the creative buzz of the place. The crowd is a mix of students, artists and young professionals looking for an alternative to the usual chain bars.
