Chicago-Near North Side

Mojitos on tap. Sign us up. Caffé Oliva on Ohio Street Beach, the stretch of sand beneath the Lake Point Tower, is a chilled out place with an island vibe. A laid back spot with trellises and a thatched roof and a cool breeze, it’s a great place to relax with a ice-cold cocktail. If you’re with a group there are six cabanas which you can book. They seat up to 10 people and boast excellent views of the Chicago skyline. From the cocktail list, the Teenie Bikini blends pomegranate-infused vodka, fresh lime juice and cranberry soda, while the Cucumber Summer Fling is a refreshing mix concoction of cucumber-infused vodka, sugar cane, sparkling water and fresh lime juice. The former comes from their list of skinny cocktails, each coming in at less than 150 calories a pop. Food is light and summery, Mediterranean style salads, burgers, sandwiches, tacos, dips and grilled fish. Their brunch menu is worth checking out and lobster night – where you can score a whole crustacean along with truffle fries and slaw for less than $50 – is particularly popular.
