Chicago Cut Steakhouse
Chicago-Near North Side
May 11, 2018
In addition to serving impeccable cuts of cow to its Chicago clientele this classic, upscale steakhouse has an excellent bar that’s worth a visit in its own right. Decked out with much dark wood and with cosy leather booths, it’s separated from the main dining room by a glass wall. The bar was one of the first to supply a drink list on an iPad, allowing customers to digitally browse through their vast array of wines, some 750 in total, and now also through their extensive cocktail list. Their Cucumber Martini is deliciously simple yet refreshing and their Chicago 75, a twist on the French 75 made using wild elderflower liqueur is also a winner. They serve a wicked rum-based Old Fashioned while The North Side mixes pear-infused vodka, simple syrup, fresh lemon juice, and mint. All make the perfect aperitif before a serious steak dinner in the sleek contemporary restaurant. If the weather allows for it and if you’re lucky enough to grab a table (they go fast, for obvious reasons), you can enjoy your drink on the patio beside the Chicago River a memorable way to begin any evening.
