I|O Urban Roofscape
May 11, 2018
Located on the fourth floor of the utterly lovely and super stylish Godfrey Hotel Chicago, IO Urban Roofscape consists of a lounge area and two bars all offering knock-out views of the Chicago skyline through a retractable roof, allowing you to enjoy the experience even when the weather misbehaves – which, let’s face it, it often does in this city. The space is contemporary, light and white with a decked floor, an abundance of seating options and red leather accents on the inside, the skyline providing a gorgeous backdrop to snacking and sipping. The food menu from chef Riley Huddleston, formerly of the acclaimed Aviary, features all manner of tasty things like truffle mac & cheese, a pork belly BLT and other interesting twists on classic American dishes; be sure to save some belly space for their decadent desserts, including an excellent deep dish apple tart; ward of the winter chills with a hot cocktail, available by the glass and pitcher, and including such treats as hot butter rum. The rest of the drinks list is also well worth exploring.
