Chicago-Wicker Park and Ukrainian Village
May 11, 2018
This versatile venue, located in a former warehouse in the heart of Wicker Park, combines a butcher shop with a bar, restaurant and live-music space. All under one roof. Ty Fujimura has been roped in to consult on the food and beverage programme. The L-shaped bar stocks a range of artisan wines, craft beers, and local spirits while the dining room works with the butcher shop to create a seasonal menu which showcases affordable prime meats as well as a range of tasty salads and small plates. The venue also boasts a live event space capable of accommodating 500. There are comfy booths in the bar alongside more formal seating in the dining area. There’s a patio too for summer imbibing and menu highlights include the butcher’s blend burger and the ricotta gnocchi with squash, fennel, Brussels sprouts, and chili. The Sinister Minister, made with Green and Yellow Chartreuse, and their take on the Old-Fashioned, made with bourbon-smoked sugar, are some of the stand outs on the drinks list and you’ll want to try their house-made salumi.
