In the middle of the very hip and happening area known as the ’Meat packing district’ on Vesterbro, you find a butcher shop that also serves cocktails. It may sound a little strange but it makes a lot of sense, when you enter the bar. Fleisch –the German word for meat – is the name of the bar slash restaurant where the first thing you see when you enter is a big open counter filled with mouth watering fresh cut’s of meat. The other main attraction at Fleisch is what’s behind the restaurants long wooden bar. The cocktail menu has a selection of great signature cocktails and classic drinks. Their version of the old Fashioned, for instance, is infused with home smoked bacon and their take on the Sazerac is made with rye whiskey infused with duck fat. Prices range from 85 to 120 kroner for the different cocktails, and the bartenders can also make your favourite cocktail out side of the menu. The best way to enjoy the cocktails here, is to drink them while sharing a few of the delicious meat full dishes from the menu.
