This cool space, located right next door to Chicken Scratch in Oak Cliff, was an immediate hit on opening. It’s always buzzing and has a lively, pulsing atmosphere. Though the downside of this is it can be difficult to get served on weekends, when it gets really packed. People are drawn here by the laid-back vibe and the half-outdoor beer garden set-up. The bar area is made up of huge storage containers which provide sheltered seating and a huge patio area with picnic tables dotted among the greenery. Fairy lights are strung in the tree branches above making the place feel particularly magical at night. And even by day this is a fun summery and family-friendly space in which to sink a beer or two with a few friends and if it rains you can always take shelter in the faintly industrial-looking interior and shoot a round of pool. The drinks list features a good range of spirits along with a large range of beers, both drafts and bottled, from micro-breweries and big name labels. There will always be a local beer on tap and if you get hungry, you can’t really go wrong with the superior fried chicken from neighbouring Chicken Scratch.
