The Rock Room

The Emerald is a legendary Detroit venue that’s gone through many incarnations since the 1920s, from vaudeville to disco to current guise as vast entertainment complex. Huge and cavernous, it’s an integral part the Mt Clemens revival and includes a mini concert stadium and a ballroom. We recommend it for the Rock Room, a bar at the heart of the complex that manages to remain cool and intimate despite the size of the mothership. It has a separate entrance on Walnut Street so you can just come in for a drink and lounge on soft leather sofas or at the barstools. You get to select from an array of cocktails: classic cosmopolitans to tangy margaritas, and don’t be surprised to find yourself next to local celebs like Kid Rock or Uncle Kracker.
