Cavalli Club, Restaurant & Lounge
May 11, 2018
Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli’s club at the Fairmont Hotel is seriously swanky. In fact, it is pretty much exactly as you would expect the club of a flamboyant Italian fashion designer to look. Cavalli is adored by the Dubai elite; his animal print and gilt adorned creations go down a treat in a city where bling is still very much in. The space, which reportedly cost in the region of $30million, is you will probably not be surprised to hear on the opulent side. It’s giddily over the top, gloriously theatrical and just a bit silly. Every surface that can be covered in crystals has been, and those that can’t have been upholstered in animal print instead. Crystal chandeliers glitter down onto a black quartz floor, Swarovski curtains, a sushi bar and, it goes without saying, Cavalli’s logo is everywhere. Oh, and there’s a waterfall. Of course. The restaurant is the centrepiece of the club. Set over three floors it offers Italian and international cuisine, served up on Roberto Cavalli crockery with Roberto Cavalli cutlery, naturally. The bar is where Dubai’s fabulous people come to be fabulous as they sip at cocktails mixed from premium spirits and exotic fruits. The uber fabulous will book one of Cavalli’s three suspended lounges, named Leopard, Zebra and Roberto (yes really), where they can enjoy views out over the whole Swarwiski-encrusted spectacle. If you want to leave reality (and a fair wedge of cash) behind for the night, this is the place to do it.
