Dylan Hotel

Dublin’s swish Dylan Hotel, housed in the old Royal Hospital Nurses’ Home, is wonderfully glamorous: an explosion of colours and eye-pleasing details. Murano glass chandeliers, blood red sofas and leather-studded walls. Minimalist it is not. This visual over-stimulation continues in the hotel’s gorgeous pewter bar. The atmosphere is lush and just a little decadent, and the crowd is made up of hotel guests, trend-conscious Dubliners and out-of-towners keen to soak up some of the Dylan’s cool without stumping up the steep room rate. Cocktails are well exceuted and just a little OTT, as exemplified by their signature concoction, a mix of vanilla vodka, Galliano, dark crßme de cacao, crßme de banana topped with pineapple and grapefruit.
