The Dining Room

Located on the ground floor of a gorgeous Georgian building in the heart of Edinburgh, The Dining Room resides within the walls of the much-revered Scotch Malt Whisky Society. 28 Queen Street has long been known as one of the city’s most elegant addresses, and the Scotch Malt Whisky Society has breathed beautiful life into an already striking space. From the Georgian door crowned by an arched window and intricate iron-latticing outside on through to the dark wood floors and grand fireplace whose mantle is adorned with whisky bottles inside, The Dining Room’s aesthetics are thoroughly impressive.
An ideal spot for either lunch or dinner (they offer both services six days a week), the renowned head chef at The Dining Room has put together a menu that focuses on made-from-scratch ingredients plated with the finest regional ingredients like Scottish beef and seafood. The Taster Menu has gained an especially esteemed reputation as it includes whisky or wine expertly paired by the skilled staff served alongside a tantalizing main. Naturally, the selection of the Scottish Malt Whisky here is second to none in the city, but if you fancy wine, you will find an exclusive list full of labels from all over the world, and a staff that is just as knowledgeable about wine as it is whiskey.
