Sultry, sexy, seductive – just three alliterative words that can be used to describe Frankfurt’s Zenzakan Supperclub. Decked out in dark woods, muted orange-red lighting and gold-leafed greenery, Zenzakan is a Pan-Asian restaurant and bar that aims to bring a touch of the upscale and sensual to the Asian dining scene. Backlit Terracotta Warriors reassuringly watch over your shoulder as you dine at Zenzakan, on a menu that largely consists of sushi, tempura and charcoal-grilled meats and seafood. Customer favorites include the teriyaki truffle beef short ribs, the lobster soup with red Thai curry and lobster tempura, all served in zen-like Oriental surroundings. Private parties of two can opt to pre-book the separate Geisha Room, where you can drink and dine in the privacy of your own boudoir and Zenzakan regularly ups the ante on the scintillating score by hosting Playboy Bunny dance parties. Drinks at Zenzakan are served by skillful bartenders who are adept at creating contemporary twists on classic cocktails or are equally as happy to simply top up your glass with some more chilled champagne. Their speciality are creations based around the rice wine sake (the bar even features several authentic wooden sake barrels), but for an extra-special concoction, opt for a shot of the Japanese vodka called Shochu.
