Late Night Drinking
May 11, 2018
Named after the famous female aviator Amy Johnson, Amy’s is the lobby bar of the Hilton London Gatwick Airport hotel. Decked out in muted shades of brown, eggshell blue, soft creams and neutrals, Amy’s feels more like a comfortable lounge than your typical airport hotel bar. Welcoming and friendly, the menu at Amy’s (both food and drink) takes the best of British ingredients and brands and incorporates them into one delicious, menu. Whether you pop into Amy’s for a coffee and a croissant or something a little more hearty, you won’t be disappointed with the quality. Main meals include thick burgers, doorstop sandwiches and British classics likes picnic platters, mini fish & chips and crumpets. You can also enjoy afternoon tea, served with champagne or a fruity gin punch. Cocktails at Amy’s are typically of the classic variety (think cosmopolitans, mojitos and daiquiris), but there are a few surprising signature concoctions, like the El Diablo – tequila, lime, blackcurrant liqueur and ginger beer – and the zingy French 75 – gin, champagne, lemon juice and sugar. If you’ve got an early departure (or are still awake from a red-eye) then the bar’s spicy bloody mary is a surefire way to kickstart your day. The bar also stocks pretty much every type of top-shelf liquor you can think of, as well as a beer list featuring English ales, cider and some international lagers and IPAs.
