The sultry ambience of Le Fumoir Bar is exactly the type of setting you want to surround yourself with when enjoying a post-dinner drink and cigar. Sleek dark woods and soft brown leathers are accented with an impressive fireplace and contemporary crystal lighting. Vast rows of spirits (many premium and aged) behind Le Fumoir’s bar are hidden behind ornate engraved shelves, like the precious jewels that they are.
Located inside the InterContinental Geneva, Le Fumoir Bar is a lobby bar with a difference. It houses one of the most impressive rum collections in the city, for a start. Rums from around 27 different countries all make an appearance on the bar’s list, including a Havana Maximo extra Anejo from Cuba – oft considered to be one of the best rums in the world. Other spirits include an extensive international whisky selection, premium vodka, gin and after-dinner sippers. Le Fumoir Bar’s cocktail list is comprised of entirely modern concoctions, including a wonderfully fruity Catch Me If You Can (pear vodka, yellow and green French herbal liqueurs, homemade vanilla syrup, lemon juice and lemon pepper), a mellow yet exotic Three Little Birds (bourbon, homemade spiced rum, fresh pineapple, coconut & ginger sugar and mace) and the so-unusual-you-have-to-try-it-once Old Zac’ (23-year-old rum, tonka bean oil, sugar syrup and rooibos smoke). Mocktails are almost as indulgent as their alcoholic counterparts, made with homemade syrups and fresh fruit juices, and a menu of finger foods (mini hamburgers, wraps, chicken wings et al) are useful at helping to soak up all of those fine aged spirits.
