Welcoming customers with its whitewashed exterior for over forty years,The Bon Accord is a cosy, family-run establishment that has, in the last fifteen years or so, evolved into a powerhouse of the whisky bar world. Seemingly scooping up several national awards each year, the most notable – and prized – being UK Whisky Bar of the Year, this Glasgow pub is anything but your average watering hole. Decked out in dark wood and brass, the pub is a welcoming respite for anyone looking for some hearty British fare – their steak pie is a regular favorite with customers – or a choice of tipples to make their head spin (in more ways than one). In addition to serving a rotation of over 800 different real ales throughout the year, with at least ten of those on tap at all times, The Bon Accord proudly displays its impressive collection of 400-plus whiskies behind its welcoming wooden bar; a mature 70-year-old Glenlivet the crowning glory of the whole collection. And while there is no doubt that The Bon Accord is serious about its whisky – it is home to several local whisky societies and even holds private tasting sessions for patrons – it’s happy to provide a wide range of Prosecco and Champagne by the bottle, as well as a variety of top-shelf liqueurs and spirits.
