Night Out
Grosvenor
Glasgow-City-Center
May 11, 2018
Glasgow’s Loft bar is housed in a converted cinema and has more of an upmarket feel than the other Ashton Lane bars. The refurbished space has a degree of elegance with white and gold vaulted ceilings and billowing white curtains. There’s a small ground floor bar and a larger drinking space above, with sofas for snuggling. On the top floor, there’s a dining area. Old movies are projected on wall-mounted screens in a nod to the building’s past. They serve a good range of cocktails and all the usual bar bites. The crowd is mainly made up of young professionals in their 20s and 30s and the atmosphere is sophisticated yet not pretentious. The size of the venue can make it feel a bit chilly at times but it livens up in the evenings when the DJ starts playing and can get pretty packed on weekends.
