Aiola Island

This is a bar that thinks it’s a bridge. Or a bridge that thinks it’s a bar. We’re not sure. It is pretty spectacular though, perched in the middle of the Mur River outside Graz, looking like a huge glass conch shell. Erected in 2003, the work of New York architects, it has an area for a soaking up the sun and a blue café-bar where you can enjoy a mid river coffee or beer, revelling in the unique surroundings. Best visited in the summer months, it’s a good spot for taking diverting holiday snaps and looks amazing when lit up at night.
