With a logo that looks similar to a Marvel comic superhero’s badge, HERO keeps the party going long after the rest of Hanoi’s nightlife has shut down for the night. Filled with Vietnam’s party people (of both the local and expat variety), HERO knows how to show its guests a good time, and does so without pretension. Once your eyes have adjusted to the dry-ice-hued low light, you’ll likely admire HERO’s eclectic industrial-style decor filled with metal cages, graffiti art, neon light and underlit tables. Even the DJ booth has been given an urban makeover, and is housed within a converted old Soviet truck. From here, some of the country’s hottest DJs spin a diverse range of tunes on any given night.
As HERO is a nightclub, and the focus is therefore on drinking and dancing, an extensive mixology list isn’t the sole priority of the guests here. Nevertheless, bottles of brand-name spirits are available for purchase to accompany assorted mixers, as well as a choice of imported bottled beers. Guests can also hire hookah pipes for the evening (although to be honest you’ll probably be too busy dancing and people-watching to want to sit and smoke), and if you’re female, you won’t want to miss HERO’s regular ‘Ladies NIght’ which offers drinks discounts and free laughing gas-filled balloons. Yes, really.
