If we were to describe the decor of P-Lounge in one word it would be ‘eclectic’. This atmospheric nightclub is nothing if not original with its furnishings, which include everything from sci-fi-style graffitied walls to a ceiling crammed with circular copper lights. And if you fancy being a VIP for the night (and who doesn’t?), then be sure to hire out one of the circular tunnel booths illuminated with strips of light bulbs which give the effect of riding a theme park ghost train.
But P-Lounge’s unique design is part of its appeal, attracting crowds of locals and tourists all looking to listen to the latest local DJs – who, not wanting to be outdone by the furnishings, are themselves stationed on a tall spaceship-style deck. The drinks list is impressively extensive compared to similar nightclub venues around Hanoi, venturing away from the tried-and-true spirits and mixers combo deals to offer cocktails (mainly classics), shots (in both glass and syringe form) and buckets of beers (mainly international brands). Shisha pipes are also available to hire, and offer the best value when purchased as part of a drinks package for table service. Oh, and don’t be surprised to see people dancing with balloons (it’s a Vietnam thing) or munching down on some tasty banh mi sandwiches, because P-Lounge also features a small but hearty food menu, to help soak up all of those spirits.
