Ask anyone about Six Pub and they’ll likely tell you all about the leafy top floor terrace complete with fairy lights and canopies. But the interior is just as quirky and welcoming, crammed with comfy leather sofas, eclectic artwork and industrial-style lighting. So really, no matter where you pull up a pew to sip a few, you won’t be disappointed.
Located on the top level of the ornate-looking Mayfair building in the Hoan Kiem neighbourhood of Hanoi, Six Pub is a cozy and laidback cafe which seemingly stays open all day long. You can enjoy brunch, lunch and coffee earlier in the day, but most locals (and visitors in the know) head to Six Pub once the sun has gone down, when the full effect of the sparkling al fresco patio takes hold. The cocktail list here is extensive, and ranges from classic recipes like mai tais, pina coladas and whisky sours to a host of contemporary concoctions thought up by the bar team. The Tokyo Tea, although simple, is very refreshing (just gin and green tea), while the Hanoi Summer (orange liqueur mixed with sugar and beer) sounds like it shouldn’t work but really does. If you’re in a group, or feeling adventurous, then the long list of shooters is bound to get your party started, all with cheeky names which we are too embarrassed to share here. The spirits selection is high-end, and customers can also partake in Six Pub’s range of shisha pipes for hire.
