A split-level bar with a split personality, Pharaoh’s Bar & Upper boasts a sleek lower cocktail bar and a slightly more raucous dance club upstairs.

In a twist on the classic phrase “upstairs for thinking, downstairs for dancing”, at Pharaoh’s Bar & Upper you’ll be doing the exact opposite. Downstairs, at this sleek split-level venue in the Lotte Hotel Hanoi, you’ll find polished parquet floors, comfy leather armchairs and a friendly central bar behind which stands a team of polite bar staff looking to cater to your every drink whim. Upstairs, on the other hand, is where all the dancing goes down (if you’ll pardon the pun). Here you’ll find a low wood-panelled ceiling that creates a sultry atmosphere, plenty of neon lighting and likely a DJ spinning the latest tunes on their deck.
If you’ve come to sip and savor then stay downstairs, and peruse the drinks menu that the bar staff at Pharaoh’s Bar & Upper have lovingly put-together. The cocktail selection in particular is extensive, and ranges from classic concoctions (margaritas, negronis, and even a cheeky sex on the beach) and martinis to a selection of contemporary libations. The Around Vietnam (whisky, lotus tea, sweet & sour mix and egg white) is a particularly interesting concoction, while The Rooster (premium vodka, orange liqueur, sweet & sour mix, pepper, chilli and lemongrass) might just have the most Asian flavours we’ve ever seen squeezed into a drink. There’s a small handful of wines, some shots and mocktails, and a rather impressive whisky selection, and we just can’t finish without telling you about Pharaoh’s Bar & Upper’s food menu, which includes a wonderfully slurpable seafood ramen soup.
