El Polvorín is a charming, fun spot tucked away in El Morro castle in the Parque Histórico Militar Morro-Cabaña. There’s a terrace area and it’s the kind of place where one goes to drink and dance and soak up the views out over the harbour. It makes a great escape from the downtown Havana rush and they serve an excellent mojito. There are other drinks available too, lots of potent liquid things, as well as a small range of snacks on offer, but while the mojitos are really quite something it’s the atmosphere that makes this place sing and it’s surprisingly lively after dark, staying open well into the small hours of the morning.
